About

Welcome, friend! We’re so excited to see your face soon, whether we already know you or have yet to meet you. Want to hear where the idea for the Daughters First Retreat originated? Take a sip of your tea as we share how it all began.

For communicators, some of our best expressions of God’s welcome come to us while showering! Daughters First is no exception. In this case, however, God’s call to embrace rest overflowed in the bubbling waters of . . . a hot tub.

“What was your takeaway? Where is God nudging you?” As we considered these reflections, laughter soon gave way to tears that often fall when the Holy Spirit hovers. We were tired and weary from the pull of producing more, building stronger platforms, and sinking under the pressure of all the things.

Collective vulnerability led to personal confession. Confession led to shared worship. Worship led to beyond-ourselves dreaming.

Dreaming led to Daughters First: a retreat to care for the communicator’s soul and refill wells that run dry from “just one more thing.”

Vibrant rest in Jesus isn’t merely a good idea; it’s the necessary foundation for whom we become as we seek to communicate and welcome others into God’s life-altering embrace.

Although we cannot welcome you to our hot tub or our conversation of a day gone by, we are readying your castle, where our Good Shepherd awaits you and your soul’s arrival.
